Connect your AI assistant

Use ChatGPT, Claude, or another assistant to turn your notes into locations, characters, and quests in Game Studio. Connect through MCP—no server to run or API key to create.

Choose your assistant

Studio server address

https://app.believein.ai/api/mcp/studio

Add this address in your assistant’s connector settings. When prompted, sign into BelieveIn.AI with the account you use for your game and choose Connect.

ChatGPT

Editing requires a Business or Enterprise/Edu workspace with custom MCP access. Pro connections are read-only.

  1. Open Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server. In the older interface: Settings → Apps → Create.
  2. Name it BelieveIn.AI Studio, paste the server address, and choose OAuth authentication. Create the connection and complete sign-in.
  3. Install or enable the app, then select it with @ in a chat. Your workspace admin may need to publish it first.

Missing the option? Check workspace permissions and OpenAI’s current requirements.

Claude

  1. Open Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector. Name it BelieveIn.AI Studio and paste the server address.
  2. Keep sign-in enabled. If asked for an OAuth client identity, choose Register automatically, not the published-identity option. Finish setup and connect.
  3. In a conversation, open + → Connectors and enable BelieveIn.AI Studio.

Team and Enterprise users may need an organization owner to add it. Claude’s connector guide.

Gemini CLI

For Google’s terminal assistant, not the Gemini website or app. Run this with Gemini CLI installed:

gemini mcp add --transport http --scope user believein-studio https://app.believein.ai/api/mcp/studio

Start gemini, then run /mcp auth believein-studio in its chat. Complete sign-in in your local browser; /mcp lists the available tools.

Gemini CLI’s MCP guide.

Other assistants

Add a remote MCP server using the address above. Choose Streamable HTTP, OAuth, and automatic client registration. Sign in, then enable the Studio tools in your conversation.

Your client must support OAuth discovery, dynamic registration, S256 PKCE, and resource indicators—not just API keys or local servers.

Optional: download the Studio skill for workflow guidance. The connection also provides it to your assistant; the download alone doesn’t connect it.

Try it

Start by finding your game:

“List my Studio games. Let me choose one, then summarize its locations and characters without changing anything.”

Then give the town a problem:

“Suggest a shopkeeper who sells the same cursed spoon to everyone. Ask before adding them. Don’t generate media.”

Permissions & costs

  • Access: reads, creates, edits, and deletes supported content in games you can access. No playing turns or publishing; review and publish in Studio yourself.
  • Approvals: use your assistant’s tool approval controls. Edits don’t wait for a second approval in Studio.
  • Costs: no extra MCP tool-call fee. Images and music use Studio Credits and account limits; your assistant’s own fees still apply.
  • Disconnect: revoke access in Account → Connections. This stops future requests, not edits or work already submitted.

Not working?

Game missing? Reconnect with the BelieveIn.AI account that has access to it. Tools missing or stale? Refresh the tool list or reconnect in your assistant’s settings.

For setup or sign-in issues, use your assistant’s guide above—or ask us on Discord.
